Blink 182 History.
In 1992,
when Hoppus moved to San Diego, California and was thinking of starting a band, he was introduced to Delonge. They decided
that they needed to look for a drummer, and DeLonge discovered Scott Raynor at his school who played drums. After considering
a number of names (such as Duct Tape) the band agreed to call themselves just 'blink. This would later have the numbers 182
added onto the end to avoid legal conflicts with an existing Irish band called blink.

Blink 182 Hiatus
In an announcement from its record label that stopped short of saying the punk-pop trio had disbanded, the group was described
as being "on indefinite hiatus."
Befitting Blink-182's newly murky status, Geffen Records said there was no timetable for the band to start being a band
again.
"No one knows what tomorrow may bring," the label said in a statement.
The official story is that guitarist/singer Tom DeLonge, 29, bassist Mark Hoppus, 32, and drummer Travis Barker, 29, want
to spend time "enjoying the fruits of their labors with loved ones."
